Five schools in one place were represented in the High School Dormitory

"Danail Popov" High School Dormitory is a recent but already close partner of the Contemporary Pleven Media Foundation in the work on European projects. Particularly valuable in this partnership, apart from the responsiveness, excellent organization and hospitality, is the fact that the dormitory is a center for students from different Pleven schools and the activities in it enable their simultaneous involvement.
For the World Cafe, dedicated to the consequences of the COVID crisis and how to deal with them, the dormitory team chose the topics: Some groups have proved more vulnerable in the pandemic. How to reduce this vulnerability in the future?; What methods are needed to increase trust in doctors and scientists?; What needs to be changed and improved in the future in digital learning at school and in online learning?; How to fight fake news and fear?

And this time there were a bunch of original ideas, defended argumentatively and at the same time emotionally. Students have an opinion on the topic close to them about online learning, but they are also "in class" with fake news, the benefits and harms of social media, the problems of vulnerable groups in society.
Based on personal experience and observations, they have put together some helpful tips for dealing with misinformation about the virus and vaccines. The most original idea, which it turns out Israeli scientists also came up with, is to develop a vaccine in the form of a pill, because "my grandmother is used to taking medicine that way and she won't be so afraid," as the author of the proposal explained .
The director of the "Danail Popov" SO, Veselka Lilova, gratefully accepted a monetary donation from FSPM, with the condition that it be used to encourage the participants in our joint events and for the competition for the motto and logo of the dormitory.
