The first world cafe was held at "Stoyan Zaimov" SU

"Stoyan Zaimov" School hosted the first World Cafe in Care on project of the Contemporary Pleven Media Foundation, which took place on October 24, 2022, in the morning. The foundation team invited the Pleven school because of the remarkable results of its graduates in recent years, and specifically - the excellent preparation of the students from the "Natural Sciences" profile classes, who win competitions and are among the best medical students.
Exactly 20 students from X, XI and XII classes, with a marked interest in biology and chemistry, were participants in the four teams. At the beginning, the director of the school, Annie Petkova, addressed them with welcoming words and wishes for successful work. The preliminary preparation was carried out by the teacher Katya Trifonova, with the assistance of her colleague Alexander Tachev.

Students reflected on the topics: What needs to be changed and improved in the future in digital learning at school and in online learning?; What methods are needed to increase trust in doctors and scientists?; How to fight fake news and fear?; How to stop the social exclusion of people with disabilities and marginalized groups?
The young people showed that they have a broad common culture, are very informed and immediately started heated discussions on the issues. They quickly identified the issues in each topic and began to illustrate them on a whiteboard.
Interesting ideas were shared, for example, about dealing with fake news, such as using only verified and authoritative media because they are less likely to offer fake news and reporting sites that spread fake news.
The event marked a successful beginning of the partnership between Stoyan Zaimov University and the Contemporary Pleven Media Foundation, both parties confidently shared after the end of the cafe.
